During the half day city tour from Chachapoyas you leave from its friendly city center to the beautiful orchid garden just outside of town. May is the best month for this tour, because then there’re more orchids en bloom.
From the colorful garden you travel to the local village of Huancas, where the women still make traditional clay pots. Their ceramics are recognized by the government as Cultural Heritage. Your last visit of the day will be to a viewpoint over the impressive Sonche Canyon.
