Start at 8:00 am, duration about 5 hours.
From the harbor our guide will drive you to the main center square in Trujillo. This square is called “Plaza de Armas”. From Plaza e Armas you will visit the shopping street of Pizzaro, “La Plazoleta de Recreo (recreation square), the “Emancipation House”, the cathedral and optional either the toy museum, or the archaeology museum.
You next visit is to Las Huacas del Sol y la Luna (tombs of the sun and the moon) are gigantic graves/temples/ tombs of the Moche culture (100-700 AC).
This archeological site also used to be a very religious place where the Moche made sacrifices to please their Gods and especially to Ai-Paec, also known as the “el Degollador” (the executioner).
Part of the structures on this site are still decorated with well conserved paintings on the walls and these paintings can tell us a lot about the history of the Moche culture. The same can be said about the many beautiful decorated golden and ceramic objects that have been found and are still found on this archeological site.
End of this excursion and transfer back to the harbor.
